Overview
The IcyDock EZConvert MB705M2P-B converts an M.2 NVMe SSD into the identical dimensions and connector position of a 2.5-inch U.2 (SFF-8639) NVMe SSD. That lets an M.2 drive be installed in a U.2 bay, a hot-swap backplane or a 2.5-inch drive cage that would otherwise not accept it.
IcyDock states the drive installs without tools or screws. It is a common way to bridge the supply gap when U.2 SSDs are scarce or more expensive than the equivalent M.2 part.
