Overview
The IcyDock ToughArmor MB699VP-B puts four 2.5-inch U.2 or U.3 NVMe SSDs into a single external 5.25-inch drive bay, with removable trays so drives can be swapped from the front of the chassis without opening the case. Each bay carries a PCIe 4.0 NVMe link out to the host over Mini-SAS HD (SFF-8643) cabling.
It is the front-accessible alternative to fixed M.2 or U.2 mounting: where a workload needs fast, serviceable NVMe capacity in a rack or tower chassis, the MB699VP-B exposes it as hot-swap drawer storage. Physical security can be added with the compatible lockable drive tray MB994TK-B.
