Overview
Raritan's PX4 intelligent rack PDU line is built on the Xerus technology platform, which is the real product here: the same platform and management model is shared across rack PDUs, inline meters, transfer switches and branch circuit monitors. Deployments can therefore be built up in stages — start with basic PDUs, add metering where it is needed, then add outlet switching — without introducing a second management system.
The PX4 itself meters at three levels: inlet, outlet and PDU circuit breaker, across 120 V to 400 V in single and three-phase configurations and form factors from Zero U to 3U. Outlet-level switching gives remote power cycling of an individual server without touching its neighbours.
Two adjacent products matter as much as the PDU. The Inline Meter retrofits circuit-level metering and power-quality monitoring onto basic, non-intelligent PDUs — the practical answer for an existing hall that is not going to be re-cabled. The Hybrid Rack Transfer Switch uses a patent-pending design to move load between sources in 4 to 8 ms, which protects single-corded devices in a cabinet that has no second power path.
