Overview
The PRO4X is Server Technology's flagship Zero-U intelligent rack PDU, and its reason to exist is outlet density. The patented HDOT outlet design strips away the mouldings a conventional C13 or C19 outlet needs, making each outlet more than 20% smaller. The practical result, in Server Technology's own framing, is that a pair of PRO4X PDUs with HDOT outlets can serve a rack that would previously have needed three or four PDUs.
That density is paired with billing-grade metering. The PRO4X samples AC coherently and meters to ±0.5%, compliant with IEC 61557-12 PMD-III, reporting kW, kVA, V, A, harmonic distortion, true and displacement power factor, voltage dip and swell, neutral current, inrush and crest factor. For a colocation tenant or an internal chargeback model, that is the difference between an estimate and an invoice line.
The controllers are hot-swappable — 100% field-replaceable with finger-safe, screwless replacement — and support cascading 32 PDUs behind one Ethernet port, PDU Linking for redundant controller power, and up to 32 environmental sensor functions. Input coverage runs from 100 V single-phase to 415 V three-phase at 16 A to 100 A, so the same platform serves an edge cabinet and a 415 V AI row.
