Overview
The Eaton 9PX is the workhorse online UPS line for single-phase racks. It converts the incoming AC to DC and back to a clean sine wave continuously, so the load never sees a transfer event, a sag, or input frequency drift.
Unity power factor means the nameplate kW is usable kW. Modern servers, GPUs and storage arrays present power-factor-corrected loads, and a 1.0 PF UPS gives the full rating rather than the 0.8-0.9 derate that older VA-rated units impose.
Runtime is extensible by adding 9PXEBM hot-swap battery modules in the same chassis style. Eaton's Advanced Battery Management charging scheme runs the cells through a three-stage cycle that reduces plate corrosion, which is the usual reason a UPS battery fails earlier than its rated life.
