Overview
Smart-UPS SRT is APC's online double-conversion rack line. Unlike line-interactive units, SRT always regenerates the output waveform, so an AI node or storage shelf never sees the input distortion, frequency wander or transfer glitch that a line-interactive UPS passes through.
The SRT platform is specified at unity power factor, meaning a SRT10KRMXLI delivers 10 kW, not the 8 kW a 0.8 PF unit would produce at the same VA figure. For modern servers and GPUs with power-factor-corrected supplies that is the number that actually determines how many nodes fit behind the UPS.
Runtime is a modular decision: start with the internal hot-swap battery modules, then add SRT192RMBP-class external packs to hit a target hold time at full load. The SmartSlot keeps the unit visible to the same SNMP tooling that watches the rack PDUs and the compute.
