Overview

Lidwave's Odem is a 4D coherent sensor that integrates the entire LiDAR stack — laser, amplifier and detector — onto a single silicon-photonics chip. Instead of measuring time of flight, its patented Finite Coherent Ranging (FCR) reads the coherence of light, delivering depth and per-pixel instantaneous velocity from a true monostatic, calibration-free design.

The software-defined Odem streams real-time high-resolution 3D range, velocity and reflectivity maps with a configurable 100° x 40° field of view and 0.02° angular resolution, over ranges configurable from 300 m to 5 km. It is immune to interference from sunlight or other LiDAR, and performs in rain, fog and snow.

Because each pixel carries its own instantaneous velocity, downstream perception stacks need less compute for real-time segmentation, making Odem well suited to safety-critical autonomous systems. It is compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Thor for edge depth perception and AI vision in robotics and vehicles.

Key Benefits

Per-pixel instantaneous velocity adds a 4th sensing dimension for segmentation without heavy compute. One-chip LiDAR removes discrete lasers and detectors and is calibration-free. Interference-immune and all-weather (rain, fog, snow, sunlight). Software-defined 100° x 40° FOV, up to 5 km range, Jetson Thor ready.

Applications

Autonomous vehicles and ADAS, mobile robots and AMRs, smart-city and traffic infrastructure, agriculture autonomy, industrial safety and Industry 4.0 perception.
