Overview
IDS Imaging builds area scan cameras across three broad families: the high-speed uEye Warp10 line with a 10GigE Vision interface, the long-established uEye CP and SE cameras in GigE PoE and USB 3.0 variants, and a new uEye Vision platform that will underpin future 2D series. The reason to consolidate on one vendor is the software layer — every camera is GenICam and GigE Vision compliant and driven by the same IDS peak SDK, so changing camera model does not mean rewriting the application.
The uEye Warp10 addresses the high-bandwidth end of industrial imaging. A 10GigE link carries up to 10 Gbit/s, which allows 5 MP at 247 fps or 45 MP at 27.7 fps without resorting to Camera Link or CoaXPress cabling. Large-format sensors up to 45 MP and 1.1 inch are accommodated through an FL mount (M35 x 0.75), and the standard 10GigE Vision interface means the camera can be driven by third-party software as easily as by IDS's own tooling.
The uEye CP and SE lines remain the practical default for general machine vision. The CP housing is 29 x 29 x 29 mm — effectively an industry standard footprint — while the larger SE body at 34 x 44 x 47 mm is designed for heat management where a compact camera would run too warm. Both take C-mount lenses supporting sensors to 1.1 inch, and both expose trigger, flash and general-purpose I/O on a screwable 8-pin Hirose connector for hard real-time synchronisation with lighting and motion.
Key Benefits
Bandwidth without exotic cabling — 10GigE Vision at 10 Gbit/s carries 5 MP at 247 fps or 45 MP at 27.7 fps over standard Ethernet. One SDK across the portfolio with GenICam and GigE Vision compliance and the IDS peak platform. Standard 29 mm compact housing on uEye CP for dense multi-camera fixtures. Thermally engineered SE body for heat-sensitive installations. M35 FL mount for large-format sensors up to 45 MP and 1.1 inch. Hard real-time I/O with trigger, flash and two GPIO lines on a screwable connector. Forward platform roadmap with the new uEye Vision camera platform previewed at VISION 2026.
Applications
High-resolution surface and print inspection at production line speed. Electronics and semiconductor inspection requiring tens of megapixels. Automotive component inspection and assembly verification. Medical technology imaging and documentation. Logistics and parcel dimensioning at high throughput. Multi-camera automation cells where compact 29 mm housings simplify fixturing.
