Overview
The Teledyne e2v Snappy family comprises 2 MP (1920 x 1080) and 5 MP (2560 x 1936) global-shutter CMOS image sensors built for embedded vision. Both use the same 2.8 µm global-shutter pixel and share a dual PCB footprint, so a single camera design can be populated with either resolution.
Supplied in a fan-out CSP package, Snappy sensors deliver 110 fps at 2 MP and 56 fps at 5 MP (8-bit) with a MIPI output. A distinctive Fast Smart Exposure (FSE) mode automatically adjusts exposure within a frame, aiding barcode scanning and other embedded vision tasks.
Key Benefits
Shared dual footprint lets one board carry 2 MP or 5 MP; 2.8 µm global shutter pixel stops motion distortion; FSE in-frame auto exposure improves barcode and embedded-vision capture.
Applications
Barcode scanners; embedded vision systems; IoT edge devices; surveillance; drones and UAVs; virtual/augmented reality; biometric systems.
