Overview
The OMNIVISION OG05D is the industry's first 2.2-micron, 5-megapixel global shutter high dynamic range CMOS image sensor purpose-built for industrial machine vision. Global shutter removes motion artefacts, which matters for barcode scanners, factory automation, compact AI cameras and humanoid robotics.
OMNIVISION's Nyxel technology improves near-infrared quantum efficiency, letting the sensor capture more usable signal under IR illumination — the standard approach for machine-vision inspection where ambient light is controlled.
The OG05D combines small 2.2 µm pixels with compact optical formats and low power consumption, enabling smaller camera modules without giving up HDR performance. It is sampling now with mass production scheduled for Q4 2026.
It was launched at the VISION Show in Stuttgart (October 6-8, 2026), the principal European trade fair for machine vision, alongside OMNIVISION's broader industrial imaging portfolio.
