Overview
The STMicroelectronics VD66GY is the colour member of ST's ST BrightSense global-shutter family. It delivers 1.53 MP in a 1124 x 1364 pixel array with 2.61 um backside-illuminated pixels in a 1/4-inch optical format, using global shutter so every pixel is exposed simultaneously and fast-moving objects are captured without rolling-shutter skew.
It shares the family's CDTI continuous digital time integration and 3D-stacked construction, which allow image processing functions to sit on the sensor's lower die without compromising the photosite sensitivity of the upper die. On-sensor features include autoexposure, defective-pixel correction and binning, and the sensor is sensitive into the near-infrared at 850 nm and 940 nm. The mono equivalents are the VD56G3 and VB56G3, and the RGB-NIR versions are the VD16GZ and VB16GZ.
