Overview
The SICK Inspector83x is a self-contained 2D vision camera that runs inspection logic on the device instead of on a host PC. Applications are built in SICK AppStudio and deployed as SensorApps, so a change of product or defect class is a software update rather than a PLC rewrite. The cased version uses an aluminium die-cast body, PMMA window with anti-reflection coating on both sides and IP65 sealing for washdown-adjacent stations.
Image and result data can be buffered to microSD and pushed to an FTP target, which makes the family practical for traceability stations where each inspected part needs a stored image record alongside a pass/fail result.
