Overview
Magewell's Pro Capture series is a family of PCIe capture cards that connect HDMI and SDI sources to software running on standard computers. Each card is identified by a published part number — Pro Capture HDMI 4K Plus (11150), Pro Capture AIO 4K Plus (11140), Pro Capture Dual SDI 4K Plus (11270) and Pro Capture SDI 4K Plus (11180) — which makes them straightforward to specify by MPN in BOMs and RFQs.
The Pro Capture feature set is built for continuous, unattended use rather than consumer capture: the card pipeline is 10-bit and performs deinterlacing, cropping, colour adjustment, colour space conversion, up/down conversion and aspect ratio conversion entirely on the card, so host CPU load stays low. Hardware timestamping gives deterministic frame timing, HDR10 is supported, and SG-DMA moves frames directly into host memory.
Deployment flexibility is a deliberate design goal. A single universal driver covers Windows, Linux on x86, Linux on ARM32 and ARM64, and Mac, with field-updatable firmware; multiple cards can coexist in one host and are addressed with a rotary switch; and each card supports multiple simultaneous capture streams plus a low-latency mode. Boards are specified for 24x7 operation with on-board high-speed memory and ship with a two-year warranty.
Key Benefits
Published MPNs: part numbers 11150, 11140, 11270 and 11180 make procurement unambiguous. Low host load: 10-bit scaling, deinterlacing and conversion done on the card. Deterministic timing: hardware timestamping and low-latency mode. One driver everywhere: Windows, Linux x86/ARM and Mac from a single universal package.
Applications
AI and machine-learning video ingest, medical imaging capture, lecture and conference recording, broadcast and live streaming production, remote production and AV-over-IP gateways, and OEM video appliance builds.
