Overview
AT Sensors introduced the IRSX-2 at VISION 2026 as an evolution of its IRSX smart infrared camera line. It integrates temperature measurement, evaluation and communication into a single IP67-rated unit, so no additional hardware or software is needed at the edge.
The IRSX-2 is initially available with a 640 × 512-pixel radiometric detector, with 320 × 256 variants planned. Two measurement ranges cover -10 °C to +140 °C and, on the high-temperature version, -10 °C to +500 °C, with thermal resolution below 40 mK. Frame rates of 60, 30 or 9 Hz depend on the model.
Three focal lengths — 4.9, 9.2 and 13.6 mm — provide fields of view from 95° × 77° down to 32° × 25.6°. The compact housing uses M12 industrial connectors, an app-and-job configuration model and improved thermal management for stability during continuous operation, making it deployable in most industrial environments without a protective enclosure.
Key Benefits
Thermal inspection without a PC. The IRSX-2 combines a calibrated radiometric sensor, on-camera evaluation and standard Ethernet/IoT interfaces in one IP67 device — drop-in thermal monitoring for the process, with no server, extra enclosure or programming effort.
Applications
Early fire and hotspot detection, inline component and electronics quality control, process and machine monitoring, predictive maintenance, and general factory-automation inspection.
