Deschutes Open CDU 5.0
Overview
nVent's Project Deschutes Open CDU 5.0 is a high-pressure, liquid-to-liquid coolant distribution unit built directly to Google's Project Deschutes 5.0 specification and contributed to the Open Compute Project. It delivers up to 2 MW of cooling at a 3 °C approach temperature and 500 gpm of secondary flow.
The unit uses N+1 sealless pumps and low-harmonic VFD drives, with full isolation between the facility-water and technology-cooling circuits. It is positioned as the cooling foundation for GB200/GB300-class and next-generation TPU deployments, and shares nVent's common control platform with the CX121 row CDU and CZ61/CZ62 rack CDUs.
Key Benefits
2 MW per unit at a 3 °C approach temperature. OCP/Google Deschutes 5.0 open-standard design. N+1 sealless pumps with full facility/technology loop isolation.
Applications
Hyperscale AI data centers, OCP-based rack deployments, NVIDIA GB200/GB300-class racks and Google TPU training pods requiring 2 MW-scale liquid-to-liquid cooling.
