Overview
The ARBOR AEC-4201 is the Orin NX member of the AEC-2000 series. It shares the enclosure, power architecture and field I/O of the AEC-2201 but swaps the Jetson Orin Nano module for an Orin NX, offered as an 8 GB part listed at 117 TOPS or a 16 GB part listed at 157 TOPS. Both configurations use the 1024-core Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor cores and ship with Ubuntu 22.04 and NVIDIA JetPack 6.2.
The 16 GB variant is the notable step up: eight Cortex-A78AE cores and 16 GB of LPDDR5 give the headroom that multi-stream video inference, larger vision models and heavier containerised workloads need, while the 8 GB variant serves lighter deployments at a lower cost. Storage is a 128 GB NVMe SSD in the M.2 M-Key 2280 socket, expandable to 2 TB.
Field integration is deliberately broad. Four Gigabit Ethernet PoE+ ports at IEEE 802.3at 25.5 W power IP cameras directly, a fifth Gigabit port handles the uplink, and RS-232/422/485, DB9 GPIO with dedicated digital I/O, and CAN 2.0 cover industrial equipment. The 180 x 96 x 85.9 mm, 2.0 kg chassis accepts 12–54 V DC, operates from –20 to 65 °C at 25 W TDP, meets IEC 60068-2-64 vibration limits and carries CE and FCC marks with EN50155 and EN50121-3-2 pending. An M.2 B-Key socket with SIM enables 4G or 5G backhaul.
Key Benefits
Orin NX 16GB at a listed 157 TOPS with eight Cortex-A78AE cores for multi-stream inference and larger models. Four IEEE 802.3at PoE+ Gigabit ports at 25.5 W power cameras without injectors. 128 GB NVMe standard and expandable to 2 TB for video and model storage on the box. 12–54 V DC input with pending EN50155 and EN50121-3-2 certification fits transport and industrial bus power. M.2 B-Key 4G/5G plus M.2 E-Key Wi-Fi support wireless backhaul and remote deployments.
Applications
Multi-stream video analytics, industrial machine vision with powered IP cameras, rail and transport vision systems, AMR and vehicle perception, remote 5G-connected inspection nodes, and edge inference where the larger Orin NX 16GB memory pool is needed.
