Overview
Ranovus' ODIN is a monolithic silicon-photonics optical engine family for co-packaged optics (CPO) and near-packaged optics (NPO). It moves the optical interface onto the package to slash the power and cost that DSP-based pluggable transceivers add to AI cluster back-end networks.
The first ODIN generation was announced at OFC 2022 for proprietary AI/ML interconnects; subsequent generations cut power dissipation to 5 pJ/bit for an 800G direct-drive solution and, in the Odin 3.0 6.4T monolithic chip, to roughly 4 pJ/bit. Ranovus partners with Jabil for mass production, and MediaTek has integrated the Odin 3.0 CPO engine into its custom ASIC platforms. Interoperability with AMD Versal adaptive SoCs and third-party 800G DR8+ retimed pluggables has been demonstrated.
