Reading the Innodisk order code
Innodisk encodes capacity and grade in the order code rather than the model name. In DEMSR-A28M41BW1DC the "A28" is the 128 GB capacity code and the "W" marks the industrial-grade build — the same capacity in standard grade is DEMSR-A28M41BC1DC. The trailing "DC" denotes 2 channels; a "SC" suffix would be a single-channel build. Buying the wrong suffix is the most common sourcing error on this family, because the two parts are electrically interchangeable but differ in rated temperature.
Because the 128 GB and 256 GB 3ME4 modules share the same PCB, controller and firmware, a design can be validated at one capacity and qualified at the other without re-spinning the board. That is why the 3ME4 mSATA is a common boot device in industrial panel PCs, thin clients and network appliances: the socket is provisioned once and the capacity is chosen at build time.
