Overview
The IBASE MBB1002 is an eATX motherboard built around AMD's EPYC Embedded 8004 series on the SP6 LGA 4844 socket, supporting up to 64 Zen 4 cores and 128 threads. It is designed as the compute base for edge AI and other data-intensive industrial deployments rather than for a general-purpose server rack.
The defining feature is expansion: five PCIe Gen5 x16 slots give it enough lane budget to host multiple GPUs or AI accelerators in a single 304 x 244 mm board, backed by up to 576 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC memory across six RDIMM slots. Storage is split between an M.2 Key-M 2280 PCIe Gen5 socket and two MCIO x4 sockets for U.2-class NVMe drives, and networking comes from dual Intel XC710-AT2 10GbE ports.
Reliability touches include ECC memory support, four fan headers, and PDPC (Peripheral Device Power Control) on the USB ports, which allows individual port power to be switched in software — useful for remotely power-cycling attached devices.
