Overview
The Forlinx FET3572-C is the first system-on-module built on the Rockchip RK3572, a mid-range HMI and edge controller SoC. It carries the same 4 TOPS INT8 NPU found in the RK3588 class of parts, which means vision and lightweight inference workloads can move down from the flagship platform without re-porting the model pipeline.
The module targets human-machine interface panels, industrial control, smart security and in-vehicle terminals. Its 8Kp30 or 4Kp120 decode engine suits multi-stream video walls and NVR-style aggregation, while the pair of Gigabit Ethernet interfaces via RGMII or RMII covers dual-network topologies such as an OT segment plus an IT uplink.
Forlinx supplies the OK3572-C development board and a Linux 6.12 board support package, with Android 16 and Debian 13 images also available. The kernel choice matters for product longevity: a 6.12 LTS base is supported into late 2028, which is unusual for a mid-range module of this class.
Key Benefits
4 TOPS INT8 NPU matching the RK3588 accelerator class, 8Kp30 / 4Kp120 decode for multi-stream video, dual Gigabit Ethernet with RS-485 capable serial and Linux 6.12 LTS support extending to 2028.
Applications
Industrial HMI panels, edge video aggregation and NVR nodes, in-vehicle terminals, smart security controllers, industrial control cabinets and e-paper signage systems.
