Overview

The Banana Pi BPI-M5 uses the Amlogic S905X3 quad-core Cortex-A55 with a Mali-G31 MP2 GPU but doubles the memory of the BPI-M2 Pro to 4 GB of LPDDR4, retaining 16 GB of onboard eMMC.

It carries four USB 3.0 ports on a full-size header arrangement, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI plus a 3.5 mm analogue output, and an IR receiver. The 85 x 56 mm footprint matches the Raspberry Pi form factor and the 40-pin GPIO header is layout-compatible.

Key Benefits

4 GB LPDDR4 for memory-hungry workloads. Four USB 3.0 ports. 16 GB eMMC plus microSD. Gigabit Ethernet. Raspberry Pi footprint with 40-pin GPIO and IR receiver.

Applications

Media servers and players, USB-attached storage and backup appliances, tinkering and retro-computing platforms, lightweight desktop replacement and home automation controllers.
