Overview

The Banana Pi BPI-M2 Ultra is built around the Allwinner A40i/R40 quad-core Cortex-A7 with a dual-core Mali-400 MP2 GPU, 2 GB of DDR3 at 733 MHz and 8 GB of onboard eMMC. Its distinguishing feature is a native SATA interface, letting the board host a 2.5-inch drive directly without a USB bridge.

Display flexibility is broad: 4-lane MIPI DSI, RGB and LVDS panels plus HDMI 1.4 TV-out. Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 handle networking, and the 85 x 56 mm footprint matches the Raspberry Pi 3, so standard cases and 40-pin accessories fit.

Key Benefits

Native SATA for direct disk attachment. 4-lane MIPI DSI plus LVDS and RGB panel support. 2 GB DDR3 and 8 GB eMMC. Gigabit Ethernet, Wi-Fi and BT 4.0. Raspberry Pi 3 footprint for drop-in enclosures.

Applications

Home NAS and SATA storage appliances, industrial HMI panels driven over MIPI DSI or LVDS, digital signage, kiosk controllers and multimedia gateways.
