Overview
The Advantech AOM-5521 is a SMARC computer-on-module built on the NXP i.MX 95 processor family. The multi-domain i.MX 95 pairs six Arm Cortex-A55 application cores running up to 2.0 GHz with dedicated Cortex-M7 and Cortex-M33 real-time cores, so an application can keep hard real-time control off the Linux application core.
An integrated NPU rated up to 2 TOPS adds lightweight local inference, and 8 GB of onboard LPDDR5 at 6400 MT/s gives the module the memory bandwidth that vision and HMI workloads need. It targets real-time, low-power industrial edge designs where a SMARC carrier supplies the application-specific I/O.
Key Benefits
Application and real-time in one part. Cortex-A55 compute plus Cortex-M7/M33 domains. On-module AI. A 2 TOPS NPU handles lightweight vision and sensor inference locally. Industrial grade. −40 °C to +85 °C with a standard SMARC footprint.
Applications
Industrial automation controllers, advanced HMI panels, real-time edge AI nodes and machine vision front-ends built on a SMARC carrier.
