Overview
The Digilent Basys 3 is the entry point of Digilent's Artix-7 trainer family, built on the XC7A35T-1CPG236C device. It offers 33,280 logic cells across 5,200 slices, 1,800 Kbits of fast block RAM, 90 DSP slices and five clock-management tiles each containing a PLL.
Internal clock speeds exceed 450 MHz, which is ample for the digital-logic and DSP exercises the board is designed for. It is widely used as a first FPGA board in university courses and self-study, and is programmable with the free Vivado WebPACK toolchain.
Key Benefits
Artix-7 XC7A35T at a teaching-friendly price · 33,280 logic cells, 1,800 Kb BRAM and 90 DSP slices · five PLL clock-management tiles · programmable with free Vivado WebPACK.
Applications
University and self-study FPGA courses, digital logic and DSP exercises, first-time RTL projects and small soft-core microcontroller designs.
