Overview
The SCU35 is AMD's low-cost entry board for the Spartan UltraScale+ family, built around the XCSU35P device with 36K logic cells, 48 DSP slices, 48 BRAM blocks and up to 304 I/O. It is designed to give developers every common hobby-class expansion path in one board rather than a single proprietary header.
Four Pmod interfaces, two 40-pin Raspberry Pi HAT connectors, an Arduino Shield footprint and two MikroBUS sockets cover the bulk of off-the-shelf sensor and actuator modules. An HSIO header is compatible with selected SYZYGY peripherals, and the board carries 128 Mb of configuration RAM, 64 Mb of HyperRAM, USB UART and JTAG for programming, plus Ethernet for networked applications.
Key Benefits
Four expansion standards on one board removes the adapter tax when a project starts with Pmod, Raspberry Pi, Arduino or MikroBUS parts. HSIO header with SYZYGY compatibility opens the high-speed peripheral ecosystem. 64 Mb HyperRAM plus 128 Mb configuration RAM is enough for buffers and self-contained designs. Low logic count with 304 I/O suits glue-logic and sensor-fanout work.
Applications
Student and prototyping projects, sensor and actuator fanout, industrial glue logic, Pmod-based measurement fixtures, teaching boards, and low-cost reference designs where a small FPGA with many I/O pins is the right fit.
