Overview

The SSSTC EJ5 series is a PCIe Gen5 x4 enterprise SSD built on NVMe 2.0, from Solid State Storage Technology Corporation, a subsidiary of KIOXIA. It is offered in both 2.5-inch U.2 at 15 mm and EDSFF E3.S form factors, with capacities chosen by endurance class: 3,840 / 7,680 / 15,360 GB at 1 DWPD for five years, or 3,200 / 6,400 / 12,800 GB at 3 DWPD for five years.

Performance is rated to 14,000 MB/s sequential read and 7,500 MB/s sequential write, with up to 2,500K random read IOPS. The series is positioned for AI and machine-learning pipelines, virtualization, real-time data analysis and large database management — workloads where the drive must hold its latency under sustained mixed read/write rather than only in a clean sequential benchmark. SSSTC calls out QoS consistency specifically, which is the specification that separates an enterprise drive from a consumer part wearing an enterprise label.

Reliability and serviceability features include an MTBF above three million hours, 25 W typical power at 12 V, AES-256 encryption, TCG Opal support and end-to-end data protection. SSSTC's TrueLog 360 feature records critical drive telemetry hourly across the drive's whole lifecycle, giving fleet operators a forensics trail for field failures. Both the U.2 and E3.S variants operate from 0 to 70 °C.
