Overview

Amlogic's A123X and C305X2 are the first announced silicon built on the Arm Cortex-A320 core, an Armv9.2-A design with SVE2 vector extensions. That heritage lets the parts run modern vectorised vision kernels on the CPU itself, while two separate NPU blocks cover the workload split that edge cameras and robots actually have: a 4 TOPS ADLA2 engine for CNN object detection and tracking, and an 8 TOPS ADLA3 engine with hardware Transformer support for ViT and lightweight LLM inference.

The integrated AI-ISP is the differentiator for camera products. It handles low-light HDR capture up to 16MP at 30fps in SDR or 13MP at 30fps in HDR, then applies AI-ISP enhancement at up to 4Kp30 so that night-time image quality is improved before the frame reaches the inference pipeline. A dedicated SED engine recognises audio events at low power without waking the application cores.

The quad-core A123X targets machine vision equipment such as dashcams, sweeping robots, access control terminals and video conferencing hardware; the dual-core C305X2 is aimed at battery-powered devices with the same 8 TOPS ADLA3 accelerator. Both are fabricated on TSMC 6nm and feed a single-port Gigabit Ethernet MAC, USB 3.0 OTG and dual 4-lane MIPI CSI camera inputs.

Key Benefits

4 TOPS ADLA2 plus 8 TOPS ADLA3 NPU pairing for CNN and Transformer models, AI-ISP to 4Kp30 for low-light vision, 4Kp60 encode and TSMC 6nm efficiency for battery-powered camera and robotics designs.

Applications

IP cameras and dashcams, sweeping and service robots, access control terminals, video conferencing hardware, industrial machine vision modules, and always-on audio event detection sensors.
