Overview
The AIMORELOGY Ovis is an open-source AI vision camera module built around the CVITEK CV1842H-P SoC, combining full-colour 1080p night vision with 1.5 TOPS of edge inference in a stacked, modular form factor. It is aimed at drones, robotics, security systems, smart cameras and teams building custom embedded vision products, and the open-source framing means schematics and firmware are part of the deliverable rather than an afterthought.
The module splits into a 20 x 20 x 5.7 mm Core board carrying the CV1842H-P, 256 MB of DDR3 in package and 256 MB of SPI NAND, and a Sensor board stacked on top through two 50-pin board-to-board connectors. The Sensor board adds the SmartSens SC235HAI CMOS sensor with its lens mount, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface on a 4-pin SH1.0 connector and a UART header. An optional third CVBS board inserts a MacroSilicon MS7024 encoder for analog composite output, which covers retrofit into existing analog camera infrastructure.
The SoC pairs a Cortex-A53 application core at 1.1 GHz with a RISC-V C906 core at 800 MHz, and the AI-ISP block performs real-time 1080p30 full-colour night vision using AI-based noise reduction. Encoding is H.265, H.264 or MJPEG up to 8 MP at 25 fps, and the USB 2.0 port supports UVC video plus USB NCM virtual Ethernet — so the module can appear to a host as a standard webcam or as a network device with no custom driver.
Key Benefits
AI-ISP full-colour night vision at 1080p30 removes the need for IR illumination in many inspection and surveillance setups. 1.5 TOPS INT8 with BF16 support runs modern detection and classification models on-module. Stacked 20 x 20 mm core plus sensor board fits gimbals, drones and small robots. UVC plus USB NCM virtual Ethernet means plug-and-play integration with hosts or a direct network stack, and the optional CVBS encoder board allows reuse of existing analog cabling.
Applications
Drone and UAV vision payloads, autonomous mobile robots, security and surveillance cameras, smart-camera product development, industrial inspection cameras, retrofit of analog camera installations to AI capability.
