The BIWIN CXL 2.0 memory expansion modules bring Compute Express Link (CXL) Type-3 memory to AI, cloud, and hyperscale data centers, letting servers expand memory capacity and pool DRAM beyond the fixed DIMM slots of a given platform. Built around a CXL 2.0 controller with a PCIe 5.0 x8 host interface, the modules package DDR5 DRAM in a hot-pluggable EDSFF form factor, with up to 96GB per E3.S module.
BIWIN offers the expansion modules across multiple form factors — 2.5-inch, U.2, E1.L, and E3.S — so operators can install memory in standard drive bays and leverage existing EDSFF infrastructure. The CXL 2.0 fabric supports memory pooling and sharing across hosts, improving memory utilization, simplifying scale-out, and reducing stranded capacity in memory-hungry AI training and inference clusters.
BIWIN debuted its CXL 2.0 memory lineup alongside its enterprise SSD portfolio at CES 2026 and showcased the full family at COMPUTEX 2026 and FMS 2026, positioning itself as an emerging alternative supplier of both storage and memory-expansion silicon for the AI data center. The modules complement CXL platforms from Intel, AMD, and Arm, and align with QS Compute's CXL memory portfolio alongside Samsung CMM-D and SK hynix CXL offerings.
