Overview
The MINIX N304-AI is a compact mini PC built on Intel's Core 3 304 processor from the Wildcat Lake generation. The five-core CPU runs to 4.3GHz with 6MB of cache, and MINIX rates the platform at up to 24 TOPS of aggregate AI performance — 15 TOPS from the Intel AI Boost NPU and 9 TOPS from the integrated Intel Graphics.
The system carries 16GB of onboard LPDDR5X-6400 memory with no SO-DIMM slot for expansion, and ships with a 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD holding the operating system. Further storage can be added through two additional M.2 2280 slots — one on PCIe 4.0 x2 and one on PCIe 4.0 x1 — for up to 4TB of total storage expansion.
Display connectivity is unusually flexible for the class, with HDMI 2.1 TMDS, DisplayPort 1.4 and a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port carrying display output. All three are rated for 4K at 60Hz and can be used simultaneously for a triple-display configuration. Networking comprises two RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet ports plus an M.2 2230 module providing dual-band Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3.
The front panel offers two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, a USB-C 3.2 Gen2 port, a 3.5mm audio combo jack and power/reset buttons, while two additional USB-A 2.0 ports, HDMI, DisplayPort, dual Ethernet and the DC input sit at the rear. Power is supplied by an included 19V/3.42A 65W DC adapter, and MINIX indicates the USB-C port can also accept USB Power Delivery input up to 100W.
