Overview

The ZOTAC ZBOX Magnus EAMAX brings AMD's Strix Halo platform into a 2.65-litre chassis. The headline configuration, the EAMAX395C, pairs a Ryzen AI MAX+ 395 with 128 GB of LPDDR5X-8000 and Radeon 8060S graphics — the combination that makes large unified memory local LLM inference practical on a desktop footprint.

Two further SKUs broaden the price band: the EAMAX390C on Ryzen AI MAX 390 and the EAMAX385C on Ryzen AI MAX 385, both with 32 GB of onboard LPDDR5X-8000 and Radeon 8050S graphics. Rated AI throughput is 126, 110 and 106 TOPS respectively, which is the number to size against when planning local model serving or vision inference.

Unified LPDDR5X-8000 memory is the architectural point: there is no separate VRAM pool to overflow, so models and their KV cache grow with system memory instead of hitting a discrete-GPU wall. With 128 GB on the top SKU, the practical ceiling is models in the 100-billion-parameter class.

Storage is bring-your-own with three M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 ×4 slots, and ZOTAC sells the series either as a barebone or as a system with a 1 TB NVMe drive and Windows 11. Outputs cover four displays across dual HDMI 2.1, dual DisplayPort 1.4 and DisplayPort over USB4, with dual 2.5 GbE and Wi-Fi 7 for networking.

Key Benefits

128 GB unified LPDDR5X removes the VRAM ceiling that blocks local large-model inference · 126 TOPS of NPU and GPU throughput in a 2.65-litre envelope fits a desk or a small cabinet · three M.2 2280 slots allow tiered local storage for models and datasets · barebone or prebuilt purchase options let integrators reuse existing memory and storage policy.

Applications

Local LLM and agent inference hosts, on-premise AI development and fine-tuning workstations, multi-camera vision analytics, engineering simulation and rendering, and privacy-sensitive deployments that cannot send data to a hosted model.
