Overview
The InWin IW-RS224-E3 carries twenty-four E3.S 7.5 mm NVMe hot-swap bays on PCIe Gen5 32 GT/s backplanes. Two 12-bay Gen5 backplanes are fitted, each fed by six MCIO (SFF-TA-1016) 8i host links, so all twenty-four drives run at full Gen5 x4 without a switch or expander.
Two rear 2.5-inch 7 mm SAS/SATA bays sit on a separate Mini-SAS HD backplane for boot devices. Cooling is four 80 x 38 mm PWM fans at 17,000 RPM, and power is a 1600 W or 2000 W CRPS Platinum supply with a pre-installed PDB. Net weight is 14.96 kg.
