Overview
The XIMEA MX1048 is built around Sony's IMX927, a 105.5 MP global shutter sensor with 2.74 µm pixels in a Type 2.5 inch optical format. It captures a 10,272 × 10,272 px frame at 56 fps — the highest-resolution global shutter imaging in the XIMEA line.
Rather than a frame grabber, the MX1048 uses a PCIe Gen 4 x4 interface that writes the image directly into host memory, removing a card, a cable and a latency stage from the pipeline. An active Canon RF lens mount lets focus and aperture be driven from software over the camera's own connection, with no separate lens controller.
XIMEA's unified xiAPI SDK spans the entire range — including the new USB 3.2 platform at 10 or 20 Gbit/s over a single USB-C cable — so customers can switch between PCIe and USB models, or between resolutions on the same Sony 2.7 UHS line, without re-integrating their software.
Key Benefits
105 MP global shutter at 56 fps over PCIe Gen4 with no frame grabber, cutting system cost and complexity. The active Canon RF mount removes an external lens controller and enables remote focus/aperture control. Unified xiAPI across PCIe and USB platforms protects integration investment as requirements change.
Applications
Semiconductor and wafer inspection, large-format flat-panel display and PCB inspection, microscopy and life-science imaging, aerial and airborne mapping, and any application needing very high resolution with distortion-free global shutter capture.
