Overview
The Teledyne e2v Ruby 1.3M USV is a compact radiation-tolerant CMOS image sensor derived from an industrial sensor and up screened for space. It offers 1280 x 1024 pixels on a 5.3 um global-shutter pixel in a 12.7 x 12.7 mm ceramic package, drawing under 200 mW.
Devices are qualified by test for New Space missions, with radiation characterisation covering total ionising dose and single-event effects, and two screening levels (ECSS 9020-like U1 and NASA Class 3 tailored U3) for flight-model delivery.
Key Benefits
Radiation tolerant to 20 krad(Si) with SEE characterisation. Under 200 mW for battery and power-limited platforms. Two space qualification levels for flight-model delivery
Applications
Star trackers and attitude determination; Earth-observation and monitoring cameras; space suits, rovers and landers; New Space small-satellite imaging payloads.
