Use Case
The Cognex In-Sight 3900 is Cognex's highest-performance embedded AI vision system. Two numbers define it: imaging up to 25 megapixels, which allows either a much wider field of view or much finer defect detection from the same standoff, and inspection throughput up to four times that of previous Cognex systems, which is what makes AI inspection viable on a fast production line rather than as an offline audit.
Everything runs on the device. There is no host PC in the cell, no Windows update cycle and no PC failure mode on the line, which is the main reason embedded vision systems are preferred over PC-based setups in 24/7 plants. The dual-Ethernet design lets camera data and plant-network traffic sit on separate physical links, so a busy PROFINET or EtherNet/IP network cannot starve the inspection stream.
