Overview
The Baumer VCX 5 GigE series is a family of compact industrial cameras in the 5 GigE performance class, introduced at the VISION 2026 trade show in Stuttgart. The cameras reach resolutions up to 24 megapixels at frame rates up to 237 fps, and use a multi-level housing concept with a patented thermal design to hold thermal stability in demanding production environments with limited installation space.
By transferring image data over standard Ethernet (5 GigE / 10 GigE with RDMA support), the VCX series reduces hardware overhead and cabling versus classical CameraLink or CoaXPress frame-grabber architectures, while offering comparable data bandwidth and a smaller footprint.
