Use Case
The Basler ace 2 R a2A4200-12gmPRO pairs the Gpixel GMAX2509 global-shutter CMOS sensor with GigE Vision in the standard ace 2 housing. At 9.1 MP and 4200 × 2160 pixels it sits in the gap between mainstream 5 MP cameras, which are often marginal for small-feature metrology, and 12+ MP sensors whose cost and GigE bandwidth demand are hard to justify on a multi-camera line.
The gm model code denotes a monochrome sensor, which is the right choice for dimensional measurement, surface and edge inspection, and any application using dedicated illumination rather than colour discrimination. Being part of the ace 2 R Pro line, it carries Basler's compression and PRO feature set for squeezing more frame rate out of a single GigE link.
High-resolution dimensional metrology; small-feature defect detection; PCB and electronics inspection; surface and edge inspection under monochrome illumination; machine vision cells where 5 MP resolution is marginal.
