Overview
Allied Vision's Alecs is an open smart camera: it combines the proven Alvium camera platform with an NVIDIA Jetson Orin system-on-module inside a single IP67-rated industrial housing. AI inference runs directly on the camera, so no external PC is required.
The VSWIR variant adds Sony SenSWIR InGaAs imaging sensitive from 400 nm to 1700 nm, revealing sub-surface defects, moisture and material differences that are invisible in the visible spectrum. On-device AI processes the spectral data autonomously for real-time sorting and quality decisions at line speed.
Because it runs a full Linux stack, developers can deploy CUDA/TensorRT models, use Open eVision libraries, or build fully custom pipelines with Video4Linux2 and GenICam for CSI-2. Two compute tiers (Orin NX 16 GB or Orin Nano 8 GB) let engineers size performance without changing the mechanical platform.
