Overview
The JetCool SmartSense CDU is a 6U rack-mounted coolant distribution unit built for the thermal densities that GPU-dense AI racks now deliver. A single unit removes up to 300 kW of heat from a rack — or from a neighbouring rack — and the same design scales into row-based configurations delivering more than 2 MW of cooling capacity.
Its defining characteristic is the coolant temperature budget. Because SmartSense tolerates facility water inlet temperatures above 60°C, the loop can reject heat without mechanical chillers, removing the largest single energy consumer in a liquid-cooled facility while cutting both energy and water use. That makes the CDU attractive where warm-water cooling infrastructure already exists or where chiller capacity is the constraint on deploying more accelerators.
SmartSense ships as the distribution half of a complete JetCool loop: paired with SmartPlate cold plates it moves heat directly off CPUs, GPUs and memory. JetCool operates as part of Flex, so units can be integrated with the wider rack-level power and mechanical infrastructure from a single supplier.
Key Benefits
Higher density per rack: 300 kW of heat removal in 6U means accelerators can be packed at densities air cooling cannot support. Chiller-free operation: a 60°C+ facility water inlet lets the heat rejection path bypass mechanical chilling, cutting the facility's largest energy load and reducing water consumption. Grows with the deployment: the same CDU design spans a single in-rack unit, neighbouring-rack service and row-scale aggregation above 2 MW, so cooling capacity scales with GPU count rather than being re-architected.
Applications
Liquid-cooled AI and HPC racks, GPU cluster deployments in colocation and enterprise data centers, retrofit of high-density racks in existing facilities, warm-water cooling infrastructure projects, and research computing installations where chiller capacity is constrained.
