Overview
GRC's ICEraQ Nano is a 10U single-phase immersion system for edge sites: it puts servers directly into ElectroSafe dielectric fluid, rejects the heat through an integrated liquid-to-air heat exchanger, and does it without a chilled water loop. Up to 13 kW of IT load fits in the 10U immersion section, with 4U of dry space reserved for PDUs.
The design is deliberately self-contained. The unit ships pre-filled with ElectroSafe fluid, has automated fluid leveling, an integrated server lift and a top-mounted service tray so a node can be pulled and worked on without a second pair of hands, integrated cable management and PDU pockets, and built-in secondary containment. A 7-inch touchscreen provides monitoring and management, and the closure locks. There is no external coolant plumbing to run, which is what makes the Nano viable in a small data room or communications closet that was never designed for liquid.
The Nano is the entry point to the ICEraQ family. Series 10 integrates a CDU and scales to roughly 200 kW air-cooled or 368 kW with chilled water; ICEraQ SX supports up to 100 kW per rack with redundant pumps and validated immersion-ready servers such as the XE9680-IR. Across the range GRC claims 90-95 % lower cooling energy, around 11 % lower average server power draw because fans run slow or not at all, and a 15-year system lifecycle — the last figure being the one that usually decides the business case, since the tank outlives several server generations.
Key Benefits
13 kW in 10U with no chilled water brings immersion density to edge and small data rooms. Pre-filled ElectroSafe fluid with automated leveling removes commissioning complexity. Integrated lift and service tray makes node maintenance a one-person job. Up to 90-95 % lower cooling energy and around 11 % lower server draw. Built-in secondary containment and locking closure for regulated spaces. 15-year lifecycle amortises the tank across several compute refreshes.
Applications
Edge AI and inference cabinets; communications closets and small data rooms; high-density GPU nodes up to 13 kW; sites without chilled water infrastructure; research labs and university compute; colocation cages needing high density without facility water; immersive test and validation labs.
