Overview

The Xtium3-CLHS is a PCIe Gen4 x8 frame grabber that turns a host PC into a Camera Link HS acquisition node. It pairs with Teledyne DALSA's Falcon4-CLHS and Linea HS cameras, accepting up to 10.4 GB/s from the camera and streaming up to 13.5 GB/s across the PCIe bus, with an 8 GB on-board frame buffer to absorb host latency spikes.

Because it carries the X-protocol over 7 lanes at 12.5 Gbps each — 87.5 Gbps effective — the board supports fiber-optic CX4 cabling with AOC-ready connectors over long distances without repeaters. On-board processing (LUT, white balance, FFC/FLC, TDI multi-plane summing and averaging, 1-plane HDR and Super Resolution support for Linea HS) reduces host-side CPU load, while T2IR keeps trigger-to-image traceability, multi-board sync and camera data forwarding make multi-camera and multi-board inspection stations practical.

Key Benefits

PCIe Gen4 x8 host interface; 87.5 Gbps Camera Link HS throughput over 7 lanes; 10.4 GB/s camera input and 13.5 GB/s PCIe output; 8 GB frame buffer; AOC-ready CX4 fiber connectors; on-board LUT / white balance / FFC-FLC / TDI multi-plane processing; T2IR image integrity and multi-board synchronisation; Sapera LT SDK on Windows 11 and Linux 64-bit.

Applications

High-speed inspection stations built around Falcon4-CLHS and Linea HS cameras, multi-camera web and surface inspection, semiconductor and flat-panel defect review, TDI line scan imaging at kilohertz line rates, and any vision system where camera bandwidth exceeds what GigE, USB3 or standard PCIe Gen3 frame grabbers can carry.
