Overview
Astek's A-LSI9400 and A-LSI9300 families are Tri-Mode PCIe host bus adapters that let a single card address any mix of NVMe, SAS and SATA drives. The A-LSI9400-16e provides sixteen external ports, the A-LSI9400-16i and A-LSI9400-8i offer sixteen and eight internal ports respectively, and the A-LSI9300-8i delivers eight internal 12 Gb/s SAS ports on an x8 Gen3 PCIe host bus.
Tri-Mode operation is the key benefit for AI and HPC storage design: the same adapter can attach high-performance NVMe SSDs for scratch and cache tiers alongside economical high-capacity SAS and SATA HDDs or SSDs, without separate controllers or additional PCIe lanes. This makes 9400-class HBAs a common building block in GPU server storage planes and JBOD head nodes.
Alongside its HBA line, Astek builds the A42412-ENC Secure JBOD, a PCIe Gen4 switch, DDR interposers, DDR compliance test fixtures and PCIe connectivity cabling - a full storage-connectivity toolkit for server integration.
