Overview
The Tektronix 6 Series B MSO extends the performance threshold of mid-range oscilloscopes to 10 GHz with a 12-bit ADC and up to 50 GS/s sampling, delivering a 25 GS/s rate simultaneously on more channels than any comparable instrument. A new TEK061 front-end ASIC sets a lower-noise benchmark, letting engineers resolve small signals on high-speed buses at sensitivities down to 10 mV/div.
Six and eight FlexChannel inputs let each input serve as an analog or digital channel, scaling to as many as 64 digital lines with logic probes. A new High-Res mode applies a hardware FIR filter matched to the sample rate, preserving maximum bandwidth while suppressing aliasing and out-of-band noise. Standard 62.5 Mpoint memory extends to 1 Gpoint for deep-protocol capture.
The 6 Series B MSO integrates the functions of multiple instruments — logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, function generator, digital voltmeter, frequency counter and frequency-response analyzer — into a single 15.6-inch touchscreen instrument. The SIM Advanced (SIMA) software option adds end-to-end signal-integrity modelling with de-embed/embed and Tx/Rx equalization for high-speed serial links, making it a central bench instrument for PCIe 6.0, DDR5, USB4 and AI-accelerator bring-up.
