Overview
The MMS4A20 is NVIDIA's 800G DR4 single-port OSFP module, ordered as 980-9IAT0-00XM00. It uses a riding heat sink (RHS) flat-top form factor, so the cooling fins sit on top of the ConnectX-8 cage rather than relying on a belly heat sink — the mounting used in both air- and liquid-cooled GPU racks.
In a twin-port OSFP switch such as the QM3400 or QM3200, two of these single-port modules pair with 1:2 splitter fibre to give either 1.6T of symmetric NDR bandwidth or four XDR400 (400G) links, which is the practical way to fan a 1.6T port down to 400G ConnectX-8 fabrics.
