Overview
The GOS-SI801DR8CA is GIGALIGHT's 800G OSFP DR8 module built on silicon-photonics optics rather than discrete EML lasers. The integrated DSP plus SiPh engine keeps the module under 16 W and the 500 m reach is specified with KP-FEC on standard G.652 single-mode fibre.
For fleets buying 800G in volume the silicon-photonics route is usually the lower-cost, higher-yield option once production has matured, and dual MPO-12 keeps it compatible with the same trunks as mainstream 2x400G and 800G DR8 designs.
