Overview

The NVIDIA BlueField-2 MBF2H332A-AEEOT is a data-processing unit — a ConnectX-6 Dx network adapter with an array of eight Arm Cortex-A72 cores and 16 GB of DDR4 built onto the same card. It appears in NVIDIA's BlueField-2 user guide hardware tables as the crypto-enabled, secure-boot-disabled variant of the dual-port 200GbE P-Series DPU.

Because the DPU is programmable (DOCA, plus containerised services running on the Arm complex), it can host the infrastructure datapath that would otherwise consume host cores: virtual switching, storage initiators, firewalling, telemetry and tenant isolation. That is why the SN2201-style and AI-factory designs place BlueField-2 DPUs between the servers and the fabric.

QS Compute supplies BlueField-2 DPUs alongside the ConnectX-6 Dx / ConnectX-7 SmartNICs and the BlueField-3 B3220 next-generation parts, plus the QSFP56 cabling and 200G/400G optics.

Key Benefits

Offloads the infrastructure — virtual switching, storage and security run on the DPU's Arm cores, freeing host CPU for the workload. Dual 200GbE / HDR100 ports give high-bandwidth, low-latency fabric connectivity. DOCA programmability means new services deploy as software updates. ConnectX-6 Dx datapath keeps RoCEv2 and NVMe-oF at line rate.

Applications

Virtualized and multi-tenant cloud infrastructure; NVMe-oF and storage initiator offload; distributed firewalls and micro-segmentation; AI factory infrastructure services; and HPC clusters needing per-node 200G connectivity with host offload.
