Overview
The Nubis Vesta 100 is a socketable 1.6T NPX optical engine that delivers 1.6 Tbps of bi-directional bandwidth across 16 lanes of 100G in a package measuring just 6 x 7 mm. It is designed to sit close to the host ASIC to reduce the power, latency and cost of discrete pluggable modules in AI back-end networks.
Unlike many silicon-photonics engines that use micro-ring modulators, Nubis builds the Vesta 100 around Mach-Zehnder modulators (MZMs) for interoperability, reliability and manufacturing maturity, and keeps the electrical interface compatible with IEEE/OIF standards so it can be used in standards-based AI systems.
Key Benefits
Tiny footprint: 6x7 mm socketable engine. MZM reliability: mature modulator technology. Standards-based: IEEE/OIF electrical interface for multi-vendor systems.
Applications
AI scale-up and scale-out optical interconnect, close-to-silicon optical I/O, next-generation switch and accelerator packages.
