Overview
The NI PXIe-1081 is an 18-slot all-hybrid PXI Express chassis from NI (Emerson), introduced as part of a cost-effective PXI hardware expansion aimed at making scalable automated test systems more accessible. It provides 2 GB/s of system bandwidth and accepts both legacy PXI and high-speed PXI Express modules in every hybrid slot.
It forms the mechanical and synchronization backbone of a PXI system — supplying power, cooling, timing and the communication bus that keeps instrument modules and controllers aligned. Combined with current-generation NI PXI modules it supports high-channel-count, timing-critical measurements as well as AI-enhanced analytics of test data.
