Overview
The LANTIME platform is built around a modular chassis concept, so the same chassis can host a GNSS receiver, an E1/T1 BITS interface, additional Gigabit Ethernet ports and PTP or NTP output modules in whatever combination a site needs. The IMS chassis scale from 4 slots (M1000) to 10 slots (M3000 / M4000), and redundant power supplies and redundant receivers are available from the M1000 upward.
Holdover quality is determined by the oscillator, not the chassis. TCXO and OCXO LQ give pulse accuracy better than 100 ns to UTC; OCXO-SQ through -DHQ tighten that to better than 50 ns. Sites that must survive a prolonged GNSS outage specify the higher OCXO grades or Rubidium, and pair them with a second receiver.
As a PTP grandmaster the LANTIME supports the ITU-T G.8265.1 frequency profile and the G.8275.1 frequency-plus-phase profile, which is what 4G, 5G and packet-based industrial networks require to keep radio timing and phase alignment inside their error budgets. The reference selection layer (MRS with IRSA) lets an operator prioritise GNSS, PTP, E1/T1, 1PPS, 10 MHz, IRIG or NTP inputs and have the unit fail over automatically.
Key Benefits
Modular chassis — 4 to 10 expansion slots for GNSS, PTP, E1/T1 and extra GbE. Better than 50 ns pulse accuracy with OCXO-SQ or above. Full PTP grandmaster and slave with G.8265.1 / G.8275.1 profiles. NTS-secured NTP and SNMPv3. Hot-plug modules and redundant power/receiver options. E1/T1 BITS outputs with SSM/BOC.
Applications
AI and HPC cluster time reference; 5G and LTE aggregation/fronthaul timing; power substation and utility timing; broadcast and media synchronisation; financial trading time stamps; industrial TSN.
