Intel IPU E2000 vs E2100
| Adapter | SoC | Connectivity | Cores |
|---|---|---|---|
| Intel IPU Adapter E2100 | Intel IPU SoC E2100 | 2x 100 GbE / 1x 200 GbE | 16x Arm Neoverse N1 |
| Intel IPU E2000 (Mount Evans) | Mount Evans ASIC | 200 GbE | 16x Arm Neoverse N1 |
Use Case
E2100 is the adapter for an enterprise or service-provider fleet that wants IPU offload without a bespoke ASIC programme: the same 16-core Neoverse N1 model, the same 200G link budget and the same virtio-transparent guest model as the hyperscaler part, on a standard PCIe card. It is the natural first step for an operator moving vSwitch, storage and security functions off the server CPU.
